The Kia EV6 has always had a futuristic appeal, and for 2024, the Korean manufacturer has enhanced its space-age aesthetics with a thoughtful refresh.
What's new?
As anticipated from the recent Kia EV6 spy shots, the most noticeable updates are at the front of the electric crossover. Kia introduces 'Star Map' lighting technology, giving the EV6 a distinctive look that extends to the rear lights, creating a wider appearance for the back end.
The front bumper has also been redesigned with a 'wing-shaped' motif, and there are new designs for the 19- and 20-inch alloy wheels.
The 2024 EV6 features a larger 84kWh battery, up from the previous 77.4kWh. This upgrade delivers a 306-mile driving range in the two-wheel-drive model, an increase of over 10 miles from its predecessor.
Charging times have improved as well. The new battery can charge from 10% to 80% in under 18 minutes using a 350kWh ultra-rapid charger, faster than the previous model.
Interior Upgrades
Inside, the Kia EV6 sees several enhancements. New ambient lighting, a reshaped steering wheel, and a finger-recognition system for loading personalised driver profiles elevate the driving experience. The EV6 also features Kia’s latest infotainment system, supporting streaming services for video and audio content. The dual 12.3-inch displays remain unchanged.
For 2024, the EV6 adds wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, an auto lock function when the key holder walks away, and expands digital key functionality to more smartphones, including Google Pixel devices. Additionally, second-row side airbags increase the total airbag count to 10.
Pricing and Availability
Kia UK has not yet announced the prices for the 2024 EV6. However, a slight increase is expected over the outgoing 2023 models, which start at £45,275 and go up to £57,175 for the top-spec variant.
